New Furry Family Member?
We are delighted when residents add a furry friend to their families. While we are a very pet friendly community, we ask that you keep in mind that all pets must be registered with and approved by the Property Manager. Pet visiting and sitting are not allowed due to damages that may occur as a result.
In order to complete the registration, your pet must be physically brought to the office for a photo and staff introduction, vet records must be submitted, and a pet fee of $300 for one (1) pet or $500 for two (2) pets must be paid. While there are no size limits, breed restrictions do apply. Unauthorized pets will not be accepted.
Furthermore, it is the responsibility of the pet owner to clean up all pet waste immediately. Pet stations are located throughout the community to aid in doing so. Failure to clean up after your pet will result in fines starting at $50.00 per incident. If the problem persists, removal of your pet will follow.

Courtney Bend and the American Red Cross - Join us April 27th!
Courtney Bend wants to do our part to make this world a better place so, for the month of April, we have picked the American Red Cross as our "charity of the month".
We can't do this alone -we need your help! Please stop by the office before April 10th to sign up for our Blood Drive – we are in need of 50 signatures of those willing to stop by between the hours of 2pm and 6pm on April 27, 2010 to donate.
You don’t need a special reason to give blood.
You just need your own reason.
• Some of us give blood because we were asked by a friend.
• Some know that a family member or a friend might need blood some day.
• Some believe it is the right thing we do.
Whatever your reason, the need is constant and your contribution is important for a healthy and reliable blood supply. And you’ll feel good knowing you've helped save a life.

Saving Energy = Saving Money
We are all well aware that saving electricity is good for the environment but did you know that it is also good for your wallet? - Really! We at Courtney Bend want the best for our residents and would like to share some tips that may help your electric bill decrease:
Turn off unnecessary lighting/electronics
Change HVAC filters monthly
Always run your HVAC system fan on "AUTO". Running it on "ON" uses more electricity and can decrease your air conditioner's ability to remove moisture
Don't let the water run while you are brushing your teeth
Install low-flow shower heads
Limit shower length to 5-7 minutes
Use a cold water rinse for laundry
Clean your dryer's lent trap before each load
Rinse dirty dishes with cold water before putting them in the dishwasher
Use cold water for garbage disposal
Only run dishwasher when fully loaded
Use air-dry cycle instead of heat-dry cycle to dry dishes
Find more tips like these at http://www.touchstoneenergy.coop/ !

This inspection does not take long and will be completed by our maintenance team. During the inspection we will replace HVAC filters when needed. It is recommended that you change your filter every 30 days. We provide filters at the office for your convenience so please pick one up each time you pay your rent! This will keep your HVAC System in good running condition keeping your electric bills to a minimum!
Inspections will be completed beginning at 9am daily as listed below by building number and date:
Tuesday, January 12, 2010: Buildings 1-5
Wednesday, January 13, 2010: Buildings 6-10
Thursday, January 14, 2010: Buildings 11-15
Friday, January 15, 2010: Buildings 16-19
Every apartment will be entered and inspected and individual appointments cannot be made. If you wish to be present during the inspection then you will need to make the necessary arrangements to be home the day of your inspection between the hours of 9am and 6pm. If you have had your original locks changed then you need to bring us a copy of your key prior to the inspection or the lock will be removed and replaced at your expense (Cost $125) as this is a violation of your lease agreement.
If you have aggressive pets or pets you are worried about darting out the door, we ask that you put them up for that day.
If you have any questions please call the office at (843)208-3420. We look forward to sharing 2010 with each of you!
